Call For Artists – deadline August 15

CALLING ALL EMERGING ARTISTS in the Greater Stamford area — this one’s for you!

Art at Emerson Hall: An Emerging Artist Community Showcase is officially open for applications! This free, three-day exhibition will fill the historic Emerson Hall with the work of 8–10 local emerging artists.

We’re especially looking for artists with little to no prior exhibition experience. If you’ve never had a “real” show before, this is your moment.

What to Know:

 Artists must be based in the Greater Stamford Area.

 Age 16 and up (under 18 requires parent/guardian permission)

 Painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, textiles, or jewelry will be accepted for review.

 Applications close August 15, 2026.

Selection Committee

• Iyaba Ibo Mandingo — A Stamford-based African artist whose work reflects the rich cultural traditions and vibrant creativity of the African diaspora.
• Justin Weist — An art educator at the Silvermine Arts Guild, one of Connecticut’s most celebrated arts institutions, bringing both teaching expertise and deep roots in the regional arts community.
• Tara Blackwell (Malone) – A Stamford-based artist and educator at UConn Stamford contributing academic insight and a commitment to arts education in our own backyard.
• Christine Irvin Ranhosky— President of the Stamford Arts Association, connecting the committee to one of the city’s most active networks of local artists and advocates.
